    The Newark UPC Advisory Board presently has 6 members. The board meets quarterly to advise the pastor, to establish policies concerning the operation of the church and to review and approve expenditures. The Pastor serves as the Chairman; a Vice-Chairman and Recording Secretary are elected from among the voting members. Two of the elected members* serve as church trustees. Licensed ministers in the church who are not serving elected terms are ex-officio members with a voice, but no vote.

*Elected members serve three-year terms. Members are elected in the following way: each year, two nominations from among the eligible voters (members of the assembly in good standing for at least one year and at least 18 years of age) who are willing to serve are selected by lot by the two retiring board members. The names of the nominees are brought to the assembly for approval by 2/3 vote of members present at the annual business meeting.
