Exodus 19:9-20
9 And the LORD said unto Moses, Lo, I
come unto thee in a thick cloud, that the people may hear when I speak with
thee, and believe thee for ever. And Moses told the words of the people unto
the LORD. 10 And the LORD said unto Moses, Go unto the people, and sanctify
them to day and to morrow, and let them wash their clothes, 11 And be ready
against the third day: for the third day the LORD will come down in the sight
of all the people upon mount Sinai. 12 And thou shalt set bounds unto the
people round about, saying, Take heed to yourselves, that ye go not
up into the mount, or touch the border of it: whosoever toucheth the mount
shall be surely put to death: 13 There shall not an hand touch it, but he shall
surely be stoned, or shot through; whether it be beast or man, it shall
not live: when the trumpet soundeth long, they shall come up to the mount. 14 And Moses went down from the mount unto
the people, and sanctified the people; and they washed their clothes. 15 And he
said unto the people, Be ready against the third day: come not at your
wives.
16 And it came to pass on the third
day in the morning, that there were thunders and lightnings, and a thick cloud
upon the mount, and the voice of the trumpet exceeding loud; so that all the
people that was in the camp trembled. 17 And Moses brought forth the
people out of the camp to meet with God; and they stood at the nether part of
the mount. 18 And mount Sinai was altogether on a smoke, because the LORD
descended upon it in fire: and the smoke thereof ascended as the smoke of a
furnace, and the whole mount quaked greatly. 19 And when the voice of the
trumpet sounded long, and waxed louder and louder, Moses spake, and God
answered him by a voice. 20 And the LORD came down upon mount Sinai, on the top
of the mount: and the LORD called Moses up to the top of the mount; and
Moses went up.
Deuteronomy 5:22-29
22 These words the LORD spake unto
all your assembly in the mount out of the midst of the fire, of the cloud, and
of the thick darkness, with a great voice: and he added no more. And he wrote
them in two tables of stone, and delivered them unto me.
23 And it came to pass, when ye heard
the voice out of the midst of the darkness, (for the mountain did burn with
fire,) that ye came near unto me, even all the heads of your tribes, and
your elders; 24 And ye said, Behold, the LORD our God hath shewed us his glory
and his greatness, and we have heard his voice out of the midst of the fire: we
have seen this day that God doth talk with man, and he liveth. 25 Now therefore
why should we die? for this great fire will consume us: if we hear the voice of
the LORD our God any more, then we shall die.
26 For who is there of all flesh, that hath heard the voice of
the living God speaking out of the midst of the fire, as we have, and
lived? 27 Go thou near, and hear all that the LORD our God shall say: and speak
thou unto us all that the LORD our God shall speak unto thee; and we will hear it,
and do it. 28 And the LORD heard the voice of your words, when ye spake
unto me; and the LORD said unto me, I have heard the voice of the words of this
people, which they have spoken unto thee: they have well said all that they
have spoken. 29 O that there were such an heart in them, that they would fear
me, and keep all my commandments always, that it might be well with them, and
with their children for ever! [1]

Acts 2:37-47
37 Now when they heard this,
they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the
apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do? 38 Then Peter said unto
them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for
the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. 39 For
the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even
as many as the Lord our God shall call. 40 And with many other words did he
testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation. 41
Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there
were added unto them about three thousand souls.
42 And they continued stedfastly in
the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in
prayers. 43 And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done
by the apostles. 44 And all that believed were together, and had all things
common; 45 And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men,
as every man had need. 46 And they, continuing daily with one accord in the
temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with
gladness and singleness of heart, 47
Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the
church daily such as should be saved.
Acts 4:32-5:16
32 And the multitude of them that
believed were of one heart and of one soul: neither said any of them
that ought of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all
things common. 33 And with great power gave the apostles witness of the
resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all. 34 Neither
was there any among them that lacked: for as many as were possessors of lands
or houses sold them, and brought the prices of the things that were sold, 35
And laid them down at the apostles’ feet: and distribution was made unto
every man according as he had need. 36 And Joses, who by the apostles was
surnamed Barnabas, (which is, being interpreted, The son of consolation,) a
Levite, and of the country of Cyprus, 37 Having land, sold it,
and brought the money, and laid it at the apostles’ feet.
But a certain man named Ananias, with
Sapphira his wife, sold a possession, 2 And kept back part of the price,
his wife also being privy to it, and brought a certain part, and laid it
at the apostles’ feet. 3 But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine
heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of
the land? 4 Whiles it remained, was it
not thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? why hast
thou conceived this thing in thine heart? thou hast not lied unto men, but unto
God. 5 And Ananias hearing these words fell down, and gave up the ghost: and
great fear came on all them that heard these things. 6 And the young men arose,
wound him up, and carried him out, and buried him. 7 And it was
about the space of three hours after, when his wife, not knowing what was done,
came in. 8 And Peter answered unto her, Tell me whether ye sold the land for so
much? And she said, Yea, for so much. 9 Then Peter said unto her, How is it
that ye have agreed together to tempt the Spirit of the Lord? behold, the feet
of them which have buried thy husband are at the door, and shall carry
thee out. 10 Then fell she down straightway at his feet, and yielded up the
ghost: and the young men came in, and found her dead, and, carrying her
forth, buried her by her husband. 11 And great fear came upon all the
church, and upon as many as heard these things.
12 And by the hands of the apostles
were many signs and wonders wrought among the people; (and they were all with
one accord in Solomon’s porch. 13 And of the rest durst no man join himself to
them: but the people magnified them. 14 And believers were the more added to
the Lord, multitudes both of men and women.) 15 Insomuch that they brought
forth the sick into the streets, and laid them on beds and couches, that
at the least the shadow of Peter passing by might overshadow some of them. 16
There came also a multitude out of the cities round about unto
Jerusalem, bringing sick folks, and them which were vexed with unclean spirits:
and they were healed every one.
Acts 9:23-31
23 And after that many days were
fulfilled, the Jews took counsel to kill him: 24 But their laying await was
known of Saul. And they watched the gates day and night to kill him. 25 Then
the disciples took him by night, and let him down by the wall in a
basket. 26 And when Saul was come to Jerusalem, he assayed to join himself to
the disciples: but they were all afraid of him, and believed not that he was a
disciple. 27 But Barnabas took him, and brought him to the apostles, and
declared unto them how he had seen the Lord in the way, and that he had spoken
to him, and how he had preached boldly at Damascus in the name of Jesus. 28 And
he was with them coming in and going out at Jerusalem. 29 And he spake boldly
in the name of the Lord Jesus, and disputed against the Grecians: but they went
about to slay him. 30 Which when the brethren knew, they brought him
down to Caesarea, and sent him forth to Tarsus. 31 Then had the churches rest
throughout all Judaea and Galilee and Samaria, and were edified; and walking in
the fear of the Lord, and in the comfort of the Holy Ghost, were multiplied. [3]
